We were finally able to source THE ideal fretting hammer. These are actually manufactured entirely in the USA – how often can you say that – by the same family-owned company that’s been making these for decades.

But there is a difference: If you take a look at the photos above, the hammer on the left is the one that other companies sell, and the face measures only 7/8″ – barely the size of a nickel. It feels like a Tinker-toy, and if it didn’t have a brass head, it would have no weight behind it at all. (Two polyurethane heads were used in the pics above for size comparison only).

After a lengthy testing process, we feel that the next size larger is a better choice. With it’s 1″ face, and slightly longer handle, it just feels right – not like a toy.

This costs us significantly more to source than the 7/8″ hammer, but we are offering it for about the same price.
